Did you ever get a phone call on your phone and wondered who it was but, you didn’t have caller I.D? I know how annoying those calls can be. However, there is reverse cell directory to find the residence or buisness that belongs to the number that has called you. I found this out one day when I was searching a number on Google. This process is called reverse phone look up.
There are many reverse cell directory websites and phone companies out there that can offer this service to you. However, many of these websites only give you limited information unless you pay a fee. This fee however, is a great investment! When the fee is paid you can get a lot of valuable information such as addresses and phone carriers. Even though you may be able to find residence and buisness some of the sources may not have cell phone numbers available to look up simply because, there are over a million of them world-wide.
You’re probably thinking if there is so many numbers and people in the world how do they keep track? Area codes were invented for this purpose. The area code is what makes the whole difference in our phone numbers. Someone else may have the same number as you, except the area code is different. The area code is the first 3 digits of the 10 digit phone number.
When these numbers are entered in the reverse look up this is one of the reasons it is found so quickly! It is amazing how almost every person in the world has one! You would think that eventually, we would run out! Also, each digit that is in every single phone number belongs to certain providers. Many of these numbers are in the provider’s systems alphabetically and by their area codes.
These are how the numbers are tracked and found. However, when it comes to cell phones each phone either has an ESN or a serial number that is assigned to it. The serial and esn numbers is what links the phone between its provider and the owner’s personal information. The esn and serial numbers are like IP addresses for phones. This service can also be very handy when it comes to law.
If there is someone harassing you or, you know a person that is trying to hide from the law and is calling you from a number, thinking they can’t be found, you can use this service without hiring a detective to figure out where the person was calling from. I’m sure our own law officials use this service or something like it to find people every single day! Phone numbers are not the only thing that can be looked up. There is also a service called reverse dns lookup. The reverse DNS (domain name system) lookup is just like the phone look up however, it is for computer networking. A dns look up is meant to find which dns domain belongs to an associated IP (number assigned to each device) address.
